Laptop Over Heating?

Laptop overheating

Has your laptop been hot lately Some laptops wont turn on, or if they do, they will turn off quite quickly the reason for this is because of overheating. Why does this occur? What causes over heating. Well when you buy your laptop it usually comes with 1 year warranty. But in that first year your fan inside the laptop is spinning sucking in cool air the air is heated by the processor this process cools the processor down, then the air is blown out through the side of the laptop. Now lets assume your laptop is one year old in that year it has been sucking up dust, especially if you leave it on the floor, the dust settles in between the fan and the heat sink, sometimes there is so much dust and hairs inside the laptop that the fan stops spinning or the air cannot be blown out because of the amount of dust inside. The process that causes the most heat on a laptop is burning a DVD, lets assume you place your laptop on a bed, the bed covers block the fan filter and the cool air cannot be sucked into the laptop. Also on top of the processor is CPC paste or heatsink coolant paste (shown in the image above). The processor gets so hot that the laptop switches itself off. ( there is a sensor under the processor) when you try to turn the laptop on ,,nothing ,,dead. You may feel that the laptop is broken but if you remove the battery and switch it on from the mains the laptop may turn on. However the fan is still blocked and the laptop will still overheat. That's why laptops need to be serviced. some laptops have a design fault where the fan placed inside the laptop is just not adequate to cool the laptop down. Sometimes the fan must be replaced, other times the fan needs to be cleaned out taken apart re oiled and then put back together this process should be performed by skilled engineers. At our workshop we have seen laptops that where taken apart by a technician and the company that opened the laptop cleaned the fan, but sadly forgot to reconnect the mains for the fan !!

The laptop was very quiet but in the end it failed and the customer gave it to us. Hence the processor needed to be replaced also. If your laptop is overheating and shutting down ,why not take it to our work shop where it will be professionally repaired.
